This week brings us the latest edition of the county arts magazine Square2. Featured in this issue are two photo shoots I conducted in conjunction with the editors of Square 2. One is an article on the musician Emily Fennell, and another on fashion designer and creator Koren Bellman.
I like Orange.

Like last year, we had a little fashion show type photo shoot at Kelly’s Shop. This year we ventured outside and did some photos in amongst the garden and, alas, the compost bins, haha. Nothing like some eco friendly backdrops. While the sun was hot, our models were hotter in the latest fashions available at Kelly’s shop on Main Street in Picton.

Now found in locations thorough out the county, are posters detailing some of the wines grown here locally. These posters feature one bottle from each winery who is part of the Association. Make sure you get out this summer and visit some of the great wineries Prince Edward County has to offer. Also, check out and “like” their facebook page!

The first ever wedding at Angeline’s took place last weekend and guests saw Kelly and Andy finally tie the knot! The rain threatened to come down, but Andy’s kiss of the cross on the way to the alter made the skies open up with the warm heat of the sun.

This year, in addition to the change from the Visitor’s to the Insider’s guide, 20 additional pages were added at the beginning that describe some of the most spectacular aspects to PEC. I am proud to say that all of these pages beautifully display photos from Michael Grills Photography. I was so happy when René Dick of Scout Design proposed this to me. Last year we had a couple of beautiful days touring the county and photographing our models at some well, and perhaps not so well known local destinations. I have to really thank him for helping to organize these shoots in regards to models, locations and props.

With all that the county has to offer, if you are a local resident, or planning on coming to visit, you must pick up a copy of the insiders guide.
Please click on the Scout Design link above to see a video of the opening pages of the 2010 Insider’s Guide.

John Gray, celebrated playwright and composer, arrived in Picton as part of the Festival Players Playwrights Reading Series. Gray’s new version of his musical Amelia: The Girl Who Wants to Fly, plays in the 2010 season. To quote Sarah Phillips, Artistic Director, “Now that was a lovely evening. John Gray was a delight. Eric Peterson, the perfect driver/bodyguard/counterpoint.”

Also in attendance were Eliza-Jane Scott and Rick Zimmerman who are performing in Amelia.

In addition, there was a wine and cheese reception, courtesy of Fifth Town Cheese and Rosehall Run Winery.
